This course aims to equip you with the ability to construct a variety of business and commercial websites incorporating graphics, audio, and data. You will learn to design and build fully functional e-commerce sites using a variety of commercial packages and development tools. As a result, you will be able to appreciate the theoretical and practical aspects of e-business.
Suitable for: IT-literate graduates who wish to acquire specialised skills and develop a successful career in the multifaceted fields of e-commerce.

Requisitos: 2.2 or above honours degree in IT or computing related subject including some experience in computer programming. We welcome applications from International and EU students. There are country-specific entry requirements.

Course overview

Our MSc Computing and the Internet is a vocational Master of Science award course. It has been designed and developed in response to a continuing local, national, and international demand for personnel equipped to analyse, design, and implement e-commerce applications.

Assessment is via a mix of examination, group assessment, presentations, class- and laboratory-based tests, case studies, group project work and the Major Project.

Students will be assessed in an assortment of ways including examination, written reports, presentations, and log books. Many modules also include formative assessment (assessment which is not marked to allow students to practice assessment technique).


Up to 3 semesters, full-time.

Career opportunities: On completion of this award you will be equipped for a potential career in one of several possibly Internet-related careers (depending on which specialism you select). Careers might include web application/multimedia developer, network support analyst or a web administrator. With an MSc such as this in your skills portfolio you might reasonably expect to undertake a managerial role within a few years of completion of your study should you choose to. You might also wish to undertake further career development and undertake a further postgraduate research degree such as a PhD.
