The course aims to enable you to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to become a competent practitioner in the field of adult nursing. You will be able to learn to care for adults in a variety of settings from the community to high dependency areas.

Requisitos: All candidates should hold a good first degree or equivalent in a science related subject. Additionally, candidates will be required to: * provide evidence of recent study undertaken and personal/employment * demonstrate insight into adult nursing * undergo enhanced criminal records bureau disclosure and occupational health screening Experience in the health and social care sector would be an advantage and could include experience of community care work, hospital work, voluntary or paid work. Candidates whose first language is not English will be required to undertake a language evaluation.

Course overview

The aim of the course is to enable you to achieve the NMC proficiencies for entry to the professional register and to become a professional practitioner, who assumes the responsibilities and accountability of a registered nurse caring for adults. It will also allow you to develop and influence nursing practice, and to demonstrate mastery of the evidence base that underpins adult nursing.

The learning and teaching strategy underpinning this course aims to ensure a student centred and enquiry based approach, which develops creative problem-solving abilities and thereby supports evidence-based practice. Evidence-based practice is an approach to learning that acknowledges the gradual acquisition of skills and knowledge over a period of time through practice and study. A key factor in this process is the facilitation of learning by the practice placement supervisors, sign-off mentors and educational facilitators.
